PNP via Express Entry: the federal stage after AOR.

An enhanced provincial nomination adds 600 CRS points and all but guarantees an ITA. Once your eAPR is in, the federal stage is a normal Express Entry file - this page covers that stage, from AOR onward. Your provincial nomination clock already ran before this one started.

Ranges below reflect when each stage usually lands for tracked PNP-EE files. Every file differs - treat these as orientation, and the official IRCC tool as the live estimate.

What shapes this stream

Three things PNP-EE applicants should know

Two clocks, one page

Provincial nomination processing varies by province and happened before your ITA - none of it is counted in these windows. Everything here is measured from your federal AOR.

Nomination verification

During eligibility, officers confirm your nomination is valid and your intent to reside in the nominating province. Inconsistent addresses or job moves across provinces invite questions.

Same finish as your stream

Inland files end with P1/P2 portal emails and an eCOPR; outland files end with a PPR, a COPR and landing - the nomination doesn't change the finishing steps.

Common questions

PNP-EE timelines, answered

How long does PNP Express Entry take after AOR?+
The federal stage follows Express Entry's 6-month service standard from AOR. Community-tracked enhanced-nomination files run very close to CEC/FSW medians for the same stream, with decisions most commonly in months 4½–6½. The live estimate is in IRCC's Check processing times tool.
Does the provincial nomination stage count in these timelines?+
No - provincial processing happens before your ITA and eAPR, and varies enormously by province and stream. All windows on this page start at federal AOR.
Do I need to stay in my nominating province?+
You declared intent to reside there, and officers may verify it during eligibility. If your plans change mid-process, speak with a licensed consultant before your file is finalized - moves can have consequences.
Is paper-based PNP the same timeline?+
No - base (non-EE) nominations are processed outside Express Entry, with no 6-month standard and much longer waits. See our separate paper-based PNP tracker page.
